In eastern Java, in a small village, in the middle of the jungle, is our own factory. Here we have been producing lighting for our wholesale business and for the VillaFlor Store for many years. Some 40 people from the surrounding villages are contributing. Everything is in-house, from stamping the shells for the right shape, to making the feet and molds and finally loading the container.

For the home accessories and furniture, we collaborate with small family businesses in Java and Bali. Each of these are true artisans, with their own specialty. For example, some specialize in wood carvings, others in braiding rattan or wicker or selling traditional items from Sumba. Together with them, we put together our own collection, based on nature.

Not only because I am a great nature lover myself, but also because of the durability and beautiful look of these materials. All the materials we use, from wood to capiz shells to bamboo, are responsibly sourced and certified.
